In anyone's experience, how long has a fight actually lasted. I'm not talking about a match.. I'm talking about a real, live street fight!
In my experience, the verbal exchange lasted longer than the physical one!!! ha,ha,ha.
I remember a guy threatening to hit me with a pool stick years ago... I heel palmed him so fast and hard before he could finish the threat. I was going to follow up with another strike but he was done.. he slammed up against the table half on and half off.. then melted down it to the floor!
I have been in a few fights. Before shou shu, my street fights would last around 5 to 10 minutes. we would start on our feet and then end up wrestling on the floor. By this time, if the person had friends I would end up fighting them as well.
After my purple belt. My fight have lasted 30 seconds. 20 of those seconds is me looking for the guy because he ends up flying some where. Usually now the friends are just frozen in fear because of the shear agression that you unleash as a shou shu practitioner.
After my black belt. I has such an asortment of ass kicking moves that I almost want to hand the poor slob a menue of the type of beating they are in for. " would you like that with a side of broken ribs or a few missing teeth?" Any way, for me now the goal is mastering the art. To eventually become a shi gung or a dashifu. To spend my life helping students change thier lives.
If you want to know how long is the true fight. That is the fight to improve one self. The fight to make a diffrence in the lives of all you touch. to be an asset to the art you love and the ones around you. and in my case. I am 19 years into the fight and it shows no sign of letting up. and thank god for that.
